Everything You Need to Know
What does a typical workout look like?
Small group workouts are 1 hour and 15 minutes long. During the workout, coaches will spend time coaching at least 3 of our 5 core basketball elements--ball handling, shooting, defense, passing, and finishing at the rim. Workouts are intense (bring plenty of water!!!), but fun and engaging. Our coaches are experts at challenging players while also being positive and encouraging. Each athlete will be assigned basketball homework at the end of each workout that should be completed at home, and will be given a Pivot Basketball notebook to track their homework.
Individual workouts are 50-minutes long. Coach and athlete will work together to develop individual goals for the player that the coach will use to tailor each workout to the athlete's needs. Does my child need a certain level of basketball skill to train with Pivot Basketball Training?
Our coaches are happy to work with athletes of any skill level who are motivated and determined to improve. Athletes will be challenged appropriate to their skill level and the expectation is that anyone participating puts in work on their own time to maximize their development.
Where does training take place?
Our ultimate goal is to have a gym of our own, but in the meantime we will be using local outdoor courts and school gyms in the greater Woodinville area (when available).
What are open gyms?
Open gyms are opportunities for athletes enrolled in our programs to scrimmage one another in a semi-controlled manner. Kids will be grouped by age and coaches will be on hand to monitor and maintain a safe and fun environment. Open gyms will be held on Sundays at the Home Court facility in Woodinville. Times will vary by age group.
Are athletes doing individual or partner training but not enrolled in small group invited to open gym?
Yes! All athletes enrolled in Pivot Basketball Training are invited to open gyms.
What ages do you work with?
We train athletes from 3rd grade through high school. Our small group trainings are geared for players up to 8th grade. Our coaches would love to work with high school players in individual training sessions.
